A delegation from Guangxi University attend the seminar

The 26th Tri-U International Joint Seminar & Symposium was held from October 20 to 25 at Jiangsu University in China. A Guangxi University delegation, led by Vice President Fan Zuojun, attended the event. International College students presented papers and won awards there.

 

At the seminar, 17 students from Guangxi University, including 7 International College students, presented their papers through posters and speeches in English, impressing the audience and judges. International College student Sun Wenzhi received two awards for his excellent presentation and academic performance, and a team led by International College student Qin Ke won the Best Team at the event.

 

During the forum, Qin Chengqiang, Party chief of International College and a delegation member, met with officials from other countries. They discussed on the theme and the agenda of the coming 2020 seminar.

 

The Tri-U International Joint Seminar & Symposium is an annual academic meeting jointed established by Japan’s Mie University, Thailand’s Chiang Mai University and China’s Jiangsu University in 1994. Each year, scholars and university students from different countries exchange their views on Asian population, environment, energy, food and other topics. The forum aims to enhance cultural exchanges, inspire the young generation and strengthen cooperation to cope with challenges. Guangxi University first attended the forum in 2000 and has successfully participated in the event for 20 years.

 

This year, more than 100 teachers and students gathered at the symposium, representing 13 universities in China, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia and the UK. During the 6-day forum, they discussed and shared insights under the themes of population, food, energy, environment and the Belt & Road Initiative.

 

Next year’s seminar will be hosted by Guangxi University with the themes of population, environment, energy, food and smart cities. International College will organize the event, which is scheduled from October 25 to 29, 2020.
